Q: How come your show is called "How Goes?", dude?
A: This is a catch phrase of mine that I say a bunch, so I liked it for the show. I think it is pretty casual and nonthreatening, so the name will probably stick. It's unique, I think, hopefully it catches on and all the kids use it.
Q: Dude, your favorite band is Nirvana! How come you don't play them?
A: KUCI has a no mainstream music policy, because we want to share obscurer stuff with people.
Q: I want to be a DJ! I go to UCI! What do it do?(!)
A: Just contact KUCI- there is a training class every quarter. You have to pass the exam and fulfull other requirements in order to become a DJ, but there is no previous experience required.
Q: Your name is funny and I like to mispronounce it, what's the deal?
A: Shapan is an Indian name, it means "dream". It's awesome and means something, I dig it. It's pronounced shuh-pawn to most of my friends, and that's not even the correct pronounciation because you wouldn't be able to say it properly unless you're Indian.
Q: That's chill. Tell me more about yourself, who is this guy?!
A: Well, I'm a student here at UCI. I transferred from UCR, and I still visit Riverside regularly because I have some really good friends there. I'm currently undeclared but I'm planning to be either a Bio or Psych major, most likely Bio. I want to go to med school, become a cardiologist, neurologist, or pediatrician. I love my family, my parents have made me who I am and whatever I am destined to be, and I admire my brother above pretty much everyone in my life. I play guitar, I love making music and listening to music. I love my friends. I'm also an NBA nerd, and you can often see me checking box scores for my fantasy basketball teams.
Q: So when you tell people to listen to your show, "How Goes?", do you end the two words with like a curious ending to indicate the "?"?
A: No, just straight up How Goes.
Q: Hey man, I know you outside your show. You curse all the fucking time, how come you don't curse all the time on your show?
A: It's that darned FCC. Can't curse on the air, it really cuts my vocabulary in half.
Q: How do I contact you? Can I be on your show?
A: Get in a band, kid. A good one. Then I'll think about it.
