Kristin is an alumni of Nova Southeastern University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Guidance. She is also a proud United States Navy Veteran where she served 8 years as a Hospital Corpsman and In-Flight Medical Tech. Avidity was developed under the leadership of Kristin who has spent the past 8.5 years as the Director of Child Welfare for Chrysalis Health, a community-based mental health agency. The owners of Chrysalis Health decided that it was in the best interest of Chrysalis, a for profit agency, to separate all child welfare programs and offer them to a not-for-profit. Avidity, now operates all group homes and foster care placements for adolescent boys and girls in foster care specializing in the care for youth who are deemed difficult to place due to their behaviors. Through Kristin’s leadership and dedication to providing Strength-Based Gender Responsive Programming, the pain-based behaviors exhibited by these adolescents are acknowledged as the youths’ coping mechanisms and responses to the traumas they have endured throughout their lives. As the Executive Director of Avidity she is committed to educating and working with communities to better meet the needs of children and adolescents by creating and offering programs that build capacity for strong and stable future.
